Extra Credit
There are many Extra Credit assignments floating around this website! Make sure you read everything carefully and scroll to the bottom of the page... In-case you have looked and looked and just can't find any assignments, I will give you a couple easy extra credit assignments right here... All extra credit is worth approximately the same as one small assignment.
1. Try this website out, it is a great resource especially because we are coming into an election. Go to this website, create you own budget for California based on the current propositions and print out the results page at the end. (If your printer is out of ink or broken, try taking a picture of the results page and showing it to me in class...)

2. This is the colorful flags website, this is a great resource for learning a little more about the rest of the world. Try going on this site and completing the Cultural Competency Quiz, if you score a 70% or higher for extra credit. Print out the "Congratulations" page as proof.

3. This is an interesting site that you can use to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. Try filling it out and seeing what it says, again print out the results page...

8. Finally, I will give you some extra credit (up to my discretion) if you bring in something educational, like a website or even an actual object. This item needs to be interesting, educational and relevant to both our class and our students. Let me know if you find something and we will talk about it.

- TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TED Global conference in Edinburgh UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize. The central website is: http://www.ted.com/
